Achuthan (Achu) is a yoga teacher trainer at House of Om, recognized for his soulful presence, clear methodology, and talent for making ancient yogic wisdom feel relevant to modern practitioners. With more than 8 years of experience and over 3,000 yoga teachers trained worldwide, he has become a trusted mentor for those seeking not only technique, but meaningful transformation.
Raised in Kerala, India, Achu grew up surrounded by spirituality. His father, a respected Vedic astrologer, introduced him early to the deeper dimensions of energy, life, and spiritual practice. He began yoga in his teenage years through Shivananda Hatha yoga, later expanding his practice into Ashtanga Vinyasa, Restorative yoga, and Yoga Nidra, while maintaining a strong interest in yogic philosophy and inner inquiry.
Before fully embracing teaching, Achu served as a Hindu priest and studied at Tantra Vidyapeedom, a tantric school of Hinduism. There he explored rituals, mantra, meditation, and the subtle layers of spiritual practice. That chapter helped shape his understanding of swadharma, or one’s true path, and continues to inform the way he teaches today.
At House of Om, Achu teaches asana, alignment, meditation, breathwork, philosophy, and the skills needed to grow into a confident yoga teacher. His approach combines discipline with compassion, structure with intuition, and tradition with practical application. Students often experience his classes as grounding, uplifting, and deeply introspective. Whether guiding a dynamic asana practice, a philosophy lecture, or a Yoga Nidra session, his intention is always the same: to support students in meeting themselves with awareness, self-compassion, and inner strength.
Achuthan (Achu) is an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher trainer at House of Om with 9+ years of experience guiding students toward deeper self-awareness. He has trained more than 3,000 yoga teachers globally and is known for his steady presence, clear instruction, and heart-centered teaching style.
