
As the founder of Atma Jyoti Yoga School, Vimal is known for his patient, kind, and enthusiastic approach to teaching. He helps students of every level and background discover their full potential, guiding them toward greater calm and a deeper sense of self through more than just physical postures. With careful instruction, compassionate support, and attention to the breath, he encourages students to experience the true spirit and energy of each pose.
Based at Yoga Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, he is one of the most highly regarded yoga teachers there and has been teaching yoga and meditation to thousands of students since 2012. He teaches daily at the ashram and connects naturally with people from around the world, including students from India, Japan, Russia, Europe, the UK, Canada, and the United States. He also brings experience from teaching abroad in China, Japan, the UK, Europe, Thailand, Korea, and Nepal.
Vimal speaks English, Hindi, Nepali, and Sanskrit fluently. His areas of specialization include advanced asanas, pranayama, meditation, and Vedic chanting. He is also a pundit and performs puja and mantra chanting.
He arrived in Rishikesh at the age of 13 to study yoga and spirituality. From 2004 to 2014, he spent 10 years at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, where he completed his B.A. in Sanskrit literature under the guidance of several great masters. He later studied yogic science for two years at Uttarakhand Sanskrit University in Haridwar, earning his master’s degree in Yogic Science.
