About Acharya Fleet Maull PhD

With more than four decades of Shambhala practice, Fleet Maull PhD brings deep experience, presence, and compassion to every teaching he offers. Named an acharya in 2009, he leads Shambhala programs and retreats across North America, Europe, and Latin America, guiding participants through contemplative practices with clarity and insight.

He also holds the title of Roshi as a senior lineage teacher in the Zen Peacemaker and Soto Zen traditions. Beyond the retreat setting, Fleet is known as a consultant, executive coach, and internationally recognized social activist. His work bridges meditation, leadership, and service, reflecting a lifelong commitment to engaged mindfulness.

He is the founder of several influential organizations, including the Prison Mindfulness Institute, Engaged Mindfulness Institute, Center for Mindfulness in Public Safety, and the National Prison Hospice. His teachings invite participants into a grounded, meaningful experience rooted in wisdom, compassion, and practical application.
