Acharya Fleet Maull, PhD

Description

With more than 40 years of practice in the Shambhala tradition, Fleet Maull brings deep wisdom, presence, and lived experience to every teaching he offers. Named an acharya in 2009, he leads Shambhala programs and retreats across North America, Europe, and Latin America, guiding participants through contemplative practice with clarity and compassion.

He is also recognized as a Roshi, or senior lineage teacher, in both the Zen Peacemaker and Soto Zen traditions. Beyond his role as a teacher, Fleet serves as a consultant and executive coach, and is known internationally for his social activism and commitment to engaged mindfulness.

As the founder of several influential organizations, including the Prison Mindfulness Institute, Engaged Mindfulness Institute, Center for Mindfulness in Public Safety, and the National Prison Hospice, he has dedicated his career to bringing mindfulness into service, leadership, and social transformation.
