Wudang Tao Studio

Description
Eastern cultures, their martial arts, philosophy and wisdom have long attracted Europeans. Combining the achievements of civilisation with the old Eastern experience creates a new quality of life that harmonises our environment and makes our existence comfortable and meaningful. Simply put, in today's world we are surrounded by chaos, constant rushing, sickness, anger and other negative emotions, which can be replaced by an interesting activity that can radically change the weaknesses, addictions, ailments of each one of us to a state of a strong and healthy body, a clear and free consciousness.
From the very beginning of TAICHI TAO, the staff has been dreaming and thinking about a home, a club where one can feel good, practice, create and grow. A year and a half of design and construction work has produced just such a result. We now have an austere, minimalist architecture, but spacious rooms for a variety of meaningful activities.
Architect Algimantas Kančas was enthusiastically involved in this project. His perception, sense of form and humanism have given the rooms a distinctive character, a bit of mysticism, a bit of Zen. Sometimes it seemed that Algimantas had wanted to express such creative ideas for a long time and that it was very close to his worldview.
We called the studio "WUDANG TAO". Why? Because we are trying to pursue the Tao tradition that the Wudang Mountains gave to the world. Any attempt to put into words what it is would still only be a small part of what the concept of Tao encapsulates and contains. In any case, it is one of the most profound and meaningful of the Pashtun philosophies, the art of living and the path to finding meaning. The Tao has given birth to systems of human development such as wudang kungfu, and the latter to martial arts such as taichi quan, shinji, baqua chuan. Wudang Tao aims to bring together people who want to discover a healthy and happy life, to share physical and spiritual experiences, to create and grow together. Our main focus is the promotion of martial arts, but we promise to devote a lot of attention to other meaningful activities. Meditation is the first of these, without it both the martial arts and our consciousness and our activities would become one-sided and then inharmonious. We hope that the small hall will be ideal for sitting, yoga, mudra and mantra practices, calligraphy classes, Chinese medicine and tea ceremonies.
Our studio is accessible to everyone - children and seniors alike. Classes will be divided by age group: youth, adults, family (children with parents). In the latter group, while mums and dads relax in the magical taichi movement, school-age children will learn the secrets of kungfu or the shapes of the stick. Mothers can leave their little ones to draw, dance or play creatively, while they can work on their own bodies, brighten their minds and give them positive emotions.
After a day of patient work, it's fun to relax, share thoughts and enjoy. On the second floor of the studio, you can cosy up on the sofas, watch films and enjoy Chinese tea. The mini-library here will answer any questions you may have about the spiritual quest of Eastern cultures.
We hope that our studio will also be suitable for larger group or family celebrations. We can organise and demonstrate martial arts training, short magical meditations, ritual dances, sound therapy sessions, calligraphy lessons or tea ceremonies.
We are currently a small team, but all of us are dedicated practitioners of the art of wudang kungfu. The people who come to the studio radiate good energy, are attentive and helpful to each other, like a big and beautiful family. We invite you to come and join in with your work, thoughts and ideas, to express yourself, to find like-minded people and friends!
