Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center creates an environment that reveals the love of God for all creation and brings hope and healing to all who come.
Founded in 1976, Genesis Spiritual Life and Conference Center offers on-site and online programs, retreats, sabbaticals, spiritual direction and healing arts, and meeting/conference space to guests who appreciate a holistic approach to mind, body, and spirit.
Home to the Providence Arboretum, the Center is set on nineteen wooded acres, where the grounds are kept in concert with nature’s wisdom. The 7,000 square foot meticulously maintained Carriage House, built-in 1829, and the main building, with its dining halls, chapel, meeting rooms, and 30 private and shared guest rooms, invoke serenity, peace, and contemplation.
Experience peace and tranquility, natural landscapes, and peaceful blooming gardens, along with our comfortable guest rooms, lodging, and delicious home-cooked meals. Located in Westfield, Massachusetts, the Center is a part of the vibrant arts, culture, and natural beauty of Western Massachusetts.
A sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Holyoke, Massachusetts, Genesis welcomes persons of all faith and walks of life.

Eco-Spirituality is explained as the exploration of our relationship with God in relation to our association with the entire Cosmos, its creation and with God in the Center. It pertains to our balance and connectedness to the Earth along with our religious beliefs. Eco-spirituality raises awareness of the natural Earth, its preservation and our consciousness regarding the presence of God in all of nature.
“Perceived as Creation, nature invites us to turn to the Creator and to take up our responsibility to protect and enhance the natural world as the Garden of both God and humankind.” – Charles Cummings, O.C.S.O.
“The universe itself is the primary sacred community. All human religion should be considered as participation in the religious aspect of the universe itself. It is false to say that humanity is the most excellent being in the universe. The most excellent being in the universe is the universe itself.”-
