Description

Many years ago I bought an aerial yoga hammock to practise inversions (hanging upside down). The hammock sat at home for a few weeks before I finally took it and hung it up. Once I started using it, I noticed how happy people became when they used it. For me, it was a real "eureka" moment. For many years I had tried - but failed - to help people find feelings of joy, pleasure and lightness in traditional yoga practice. Suddenly, with the help of an aerial yoga hammock, they found it. This is something I will never forget. Since then, I would have to say, I just fell in love with aerial yoga. Or rather, I fell in love with what aerial yoga has brought to clients. I believe that they bring people closer to the experience of feeling yoga. It's a feeling that is characterised by pleasure, lightness, spontaneity, freedom of movement and being. As a yoga teacher, it is a great privilege for me to be able to take people to that place. At first I had to teach myself, because at that time there were no trainings. Starting with friends, moving into small groups, and then in 2011 starting Aerial Yoga London, London's only dedicated aerial yoga studio. Within a couple of years I gave up most of my other yoga work and by 2017 we were running up to fifteen aerial yoga classes a week at the studio. in 2017, after 6 years of training and workshops in London, Agne and I decided to take a break and plan our next step. We moved to India for 9 months and during that time we developed the Air Yoga Training Course, which is a combination of our experience and what we have learned from teaching thousands of classes to a wide range of people. We feel ready to teach others how to use the Air Yoga hammock safely, artistically and creatively to help people achieve this joyful "yoga feeling".
