Martina Franić was born in Zagreb in 1973. After finishing high school, she began working as a makeup artist at the Gavella Theatre in Zagreb. In search of further knowledge, she moved to Amsterdam to study theatre and film makeup and body painting. In that multicultural environment, she encountered many different approaches, and in 1997 she came to bhakti yoga. She later returned to Croatia and now lives on the small island of Prvić in the Šibenik archipelago.
She practiced yoga independently for many years, learning from books and from friends with more experience. In 2015/16, she completed Yoga Teacher Training TT200 with Divya Yoga and Sandra Petra Pintarić in Zagreb, who introduced her to Sri Dharma Mittra in 2015. She visited his workshops in London in 2015 and 2016, traveled to New York in 2017, and completed Sri Dharma Mittra’s TT500 “Life of a Yogi” training in 2018. She has been teaching yoga since 2016 in Prvić, Srima, and Zagreb.
For Martina, yoga is a complete spiritual practice and a path toward self-knowledge. Alongside yoga, she is creative and brings that creativity into her teaching through sacred geometry, Vastu, Jyotish, yantras, and mandalas, drawing on ancient Vedic knowledge to support focus and creativity.
Born in Croatia in 1981, Filip Gour is now based in Belgium. He began exploring consciousness through yoga in 2005 and has since devoted himself to studying, practicing, and sharing many aspects of yoga. With a strong interest in yoga psychology and ancient traditions, he often spends time in India, with philosophy books and a camera close to his yoga mat.
Filip teaches open-level classes and invites participants to deepen the connection between body, mind, and soul while honoring personal needs and limitations. In his asana and pranayama sessions, he emphasizes contemplation and mindfulness. His guided meditations often focus on self-acceptance, gratitude, and mantras. He has organized mantra-chanting events and sometimes leads simple kirtan himself. As a photographer and videographer, he notices beauty in the details of everyday life, and he is known for his thoughtful nature and good sense of humor.
Madhavananda was born in Bavaria, Germany, and studied ancient Jyotish astrology, remedies, and Vedic rituals from 1993 onward in traditional Vaishnava monasteries. He specialized in original Jyotish-Nakshatra astrology and completed his final studies at the Veden-Akademie in Germany in 2000. In April 2000, after seven years of study, he was appointed and initiated into the ceremonial priesthood by a bona fide successor of the ancient Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya school. He continued his studies in South India, especially in Mayapur, West Bengal, with the guidance of expert teachers.
Since 1996, he has supported and consulted people worldwide, and he later chose to settle permanently in Dalmatia, Croatia. His work includes Jyotish-Nakshatra astrology based on the date of birth, birthday calculations, auspicious moment calculations, compatibility astrology, and astrological remedies. Private individual counseling sessions are also possible.

Dharma yoga comes from Sri Dharma Mittra, the legendary New York teacher known as the “rock of yoga” and the “teacher of teachers.” It is rooted in traditional Ashtanga yoga, or the eight-limbed path, with all aspects given equal importance. Each class begins with a short connection to the divine, continues with a playful and flowing asana practice, and ends with yoga nidra, pranayama, and meditation.
True yoga is about being honest with the body and mind, developing health, focus, and inner awareness, and then moving into deeper practices. On this retreat, there is time to explore authentic yoga and its techniques. Together, we awaken compassion, patience, and selflessness, bringing these qualities into everyday life.
The retreat is held in the peaceful village of Okrug Donji on the island of Čiovo. Connected to the mainland by two bridges, the island is easy to reach by plane or car. During the retreat season, it is less crowded, offering plenty of space to enjoy the natural surroundings.
Every evening has its own character. Some nights may include a visit to a nearby town, while others may bring a celebration at the retreat center, quiet reflection on the terrace with herbal tea, inspiring films, or bhajans. The evening flow is guided by the team and the energy of the group.
Food is an essential part of yoga practice. Nourishing vegetarian and vegan meals, together with yoga asanas, meditation, and spiritual philosophy, support a sattvic lifestyle.
Guests receive three healthy meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast includes porridge, fruit, milk, bread, butter, cheese, jam, and honey. Lunch and dinner are balanced meals prepared by the local chef, and herbal teas are available throughout the day.
Smoking and alcohol are not permitted, and participants are encouraged to avoid toxic substances during the week for the greatest benefit. If you have food allergies, the chef will do their best to accommodate your needs when informed in advance.
