Step into the quiet beauty of Iceland in winter, where snow-covered landscapes create a sense of stillness, balance, and space to slow down. At 66° North, the season feels especially magical: golden sunlight reflects across the white terrain, warm pools offer comfort on cold days, and, at night, the Northern Lights may sweep across the sky.

Sunday: Arrive individually in Akureyri and settle into the rhythm of the week. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or visit the Akureyri swimming pool, with its three hot pots and steam bath. At 17:00, a short city tour introduces you to your temporary home, followed by a welcome dinner in a beautiful farmhouse and art gallery in the countryside.
Note: Free pick-up is available for flights arriving in Akureyri at 16:15.
Monday: Begin with yoga above the cliffs of Akureyri, overlooking the fjord. The morning includes a 1.5-hour indoor practice in a nature-embedded yoga center, followed by a hearty meal in a private home. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided hike above the cliffs, with a yoga stop along the way and sweeping views over the fjord and mountains. After returning from the longest hike of the week, unwind in the brand-new spa at the Yoga & PSA center.
Tuesday: Travel to Tröllaskagi, the mountains of the trolls, and continue into the Svarfaðadalur valley. From the ancient farm Skeið, hike through an idyllic landscape to a mountain lake, where you may rest or join another yoga session in a majestic natural setting. For those seeking a stronger challenge, a dip in the lake is possible. Back at the farm, enjoy a delicious meal before returning for a restorative Yin Yoga class.
Wednesday: After a 1.5-hour indoor yoga sequence, head toward Lake Mývatn, one of Iceland’s most striking volcanic regions. Your first outdoor yoga practice takes place at Lake Ljàosavatn, followed by a stop at Goðafoss, the waterfall of the Gods. Continue exploring the area with short walks at Skútustaðir, Dimmuborgir, the continental divide, Krafla volcano, and Námaskarð. Dinner is served at a café overlooking Dimmuborgir and the lake, before a relaxing visit to the warm waters of the Nature Baths. Hikes: short walks of 10 to 20 minutes at each scenic stop.
Thursday: Start the day with indoor yoga before traveling along the west coast of Eyjafjörður to catch the Sævar ferry to Hrísey. A short walk leads to a spectacular viewpoint, known as one of the most powerful places in Iceland and an ideal spot for yoga and rest. Continue along dramatic cliffs rich with birdlife, then return to the village for a warm pool with beautiful views. If you wish, a Polar Bear plunge is also available. Dinner is served on the island before the ferry returns you to the mainland. Hike: 1.5 to 2 hours.
Friday: Close the circle with your final 1.5-hour indoor yoga sequence, then head south to discover the area around Akureyri. Visit a magical forest at a canyon, enjoy a quiet walk, and reflect on the week’s experiences. Continue to one of Iceland’s last six remaining turf house churches, then stop at a farm that makes its own ice cream. After returning to Akureyri, you will be dropped off at your guesthouse or the airport.
