A sacred multi-day walk through the Cascades
Hope to Tulameen, BC
August 20-27, 2026
Some journeys begin long before the first step. They begin with a quiet yes.
This multi-day walking pilgrimage crosses the Cascade Mountains from Hope to Tulameen, offering a slower, more intentional way to travel. It is designed not for speed, but for presence — for moving at a pace that lets you feel the land underfoot, settle into your own rhythm, and notice the inner shifts that unfold along the way.
The trail is approximately 74 km (46 miles) one-way and holds many layers of history and meaning. While it is often linked to the Hudson’s Bay Company era, its origins reach much further back. Long before it was named or mapped, these paths were traveled by the Stó:lo, Nlaka’pamux, and Similkameen First Nations, shaped by relationship, seasonal movement, and deep knowledge of place.
We walk this land with respect, honoring the wisdom it carries and the lives it has held. This pilgrimage is both a physical journey through the mountains and a spiritual invitation to listen, soften, and remember the unseen threads that connect us to the earth, to one another, and to something greater than ourselves.
We will begin and end at Wild Heart Spirit Heart in Tulameen, using the retreat center as a place of preparation, arrival, and integration.
This structure also leaves room for flexibility if weather or pacing requires an extra night on the trail. We will move with care, not force.
Most of each day will be devoted to walking — sometimes in silence, sometimes in quiet companionship.
You will carry what you need, sleep under the sky, and discover what your body can do when given time, rhythm, and a clear purpose. This is not an easy trail. It moves through mountain terrain and asks for endurance and steadiness. Yet it also offers something deeply valuable: simplicity, humility, and a profound recalibration.
The land has a way of stripping away what is unnecessary — not harshly, just honestly.
Each evening, we will gather in a simple circle to rest, eat, and reflect. These moments are not intended to be intense or heavy; they are a gentle invitation to integrate the day and connect in meaningful ways.
You will be offered reflection prompts that may be explored through journaling, contemplation, or conversation, such as:
The intention is not to analyze the journey, but to let it speak.
This pilgrimage requires a reasonable level of fitness, including comfort with long days of walking and the ability to carry a pack.
Preparation is part of the pilgrimage itself. Before departure, we will gather at Wild Heart Spirit Heart for an orientation day, and there will be a few group preparation calls in the months leading up to the journey. You will receive guidance on physical readiness, gear, pacing, and expectations, along with space to meet the group and begin building trust.
Pricing ranges from $2,100 to $2,600, depending on accommodation choice at Wild Heart Spirit Heart.
This includes:

I will be walking this journey with the group.
In the months leading up to the pilgrimage, I will offer preparation calls, support, and practical guidance to help you prepare your body, your mindset, and your relationship to the land. This is not about pushing limits. It is about walking with awareness, humility, and heart.
If something in you longs for simplicity, for movement that becomes meditation, for a journey shaped by land, spirit, and silence, this pilgrimage may be calling you.
This is not for everyone. But for the right few, it will be unforgettable.

Throughout this pilgrimage, Zuzana will walk alongside the group, offering a steady and supportive presence every step of the way.
