Activities
What if life were a celebration? This retreat invites you to remember that we are nature, and that we are also consciousness itself. Through the teachings of yoga, we are encouraged to reconnect with our belonging to the earth, to honor the full range of human experience, and to celebrate the richness, vastness, and beauty of life.
James’ approach to yogic movement draws on yoga as skilfulness in action, with practices that integrate body, mind, and senses. Morning movement sessions will help gather energy, tune the system, and support a lifelong personal practice. Workshop sessions will explore subtle movement, coordination, organic strength, improvisation, and play.
In practical yoga philosophy, James shares the heart of the living yoga tradition with clarity, devotion, and more than thirty years of teaching experience. His satsang sessions offer space for shared inquiry and reflection, helping to integrate the retreat experience in the mountains and in practice.
Meditative walks and longer hikes are an essential part of the retreat, offering easy and accessible ways to deepen mindfulness and connection with nature. Two days will be dedicated to half-day meditative hikes, followed by a gentle yoga class after returning.
Karma Yoga is also part of the experience, inviting participants to support the house through simple tasks such as fetching water, chopping vegetables, or drying dishes.
