Are you ready for a restorative escape into the countryside?
Join this yoga retreat in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the South Downs, where sweeping countryside meets a beautiful coastline. Set in a peaceful rural location just an hour and a half from London, it offers the perfect chance to step away from the pace of everyday life and reconnect with yourself, the people around you, and the natural world.
This weekend is designed to help you slow down, reflect, and return home feeling relaxed, refreshed, and deeply renewed. There will be time to share, grow, and connect, along with nourishing plant-based food and space away from mobile phones and daily responsibilities. You’ll also have time for journaling, questioning, reflection, and learning. Prices start from £395.
Yoga
We will practice twice each day, with daily meditation and pranayama. This retreat is open to all levels, including beginners, though beginners are encouraged to begin attending regular yoga classes before arrival. Expect plenty of laughter, meaningful moments, and memories to carry home with you.
Morning sessions will be energising and challenging, with a strong feel-good flow. You’ll work up a sweat, explore new poses, breathe deeply, and close with a blissful savasana. There will also be a workshop to explore and practice elements that do not always fit into a regular class. Evening classes will be softer, with a Yin focus and deeply relaxing yoga nidra, helping you unwind and settle into bed feeling completely at ease.

Accommodation
To keep the weekend accessible and encourage a sense of community, the venue offers dorm-style accommodation. The Studio sleeps eleven people and has two showers and two toilets. The Playroom sleeps six and includes one shower and one toilet. Both spaces provide simple, comfortable, high-quality single-sex accommodation with sturdy single beds and bunk beds, each with individual storage drawers. Bedding is fully provided, including duvets, pillows, linen, and towels.
Most guests come alone and leave with wonderful new friendships, so there is no need to worry. You are also welcome to come with friends, family, or a partner. The dormitories create a sociable atmosphere, while the grounds at Gayles offer plenty of space for quiet time too.
Food
Every meal is lovingly prepared using high-quality, delicious, nourishing ingredients from the organic gardens. Meals are served in the relaxed setting of a beautifully converted dining room, and when the weather allows, you may eat outdoors on the terrace. All food is vegetarian or vegan, chosen to be both healing and soul-nourishing.
Dietary Restrictions and Allergies
Please share any dietary restrictions when booking so the necessary arrangements can be made.
If you follow a highly restricted diet for medical reasons, we recommend bringing any essentials you may need for your well-being. A dedicated kitchen is available, along with a small fridge you are welcome to use.
If you have a severe allergy and may react to even trace amounts, for example on a knife or board, please make this known in advance. Absolute guarantees cannot be provided for such conditions.

Surrounding estate
The accommodation, studio, and dining areas are all close together within carefully maintained gardens. Gentle meadows open out to panoramic views, creating space between activities to wander, breathe, and reflect.
Activities (all optional)
Whether retreat means solitude, connection, or a full detox from daily stress, you are free to shape the weekend in a way that suits you. Join as many or as few sessions as you like. If you prefer a slower morning, extra rest, or an earlier night, that is completely fine.
Optional experiences include guided coastal walks with breathtaking views, access to the private outdoor swimming pool and hard surface tennis court, or simply time to relax in a hammock with a good book between yoga sessions.
