Founded by coach Ollie Newton, Surf Fit Academy is a community built around surf fitness and personal training. What makes it special is the people: everyone supports one another, shares advice, laughs together, and even swaps puppy photos.
This retreat is designed as a chance to connect in the waves, meet potential new members, and have an informal chat with Ollie. Whether you want to join the team, make new surf friends, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, you’ll feel at home here.
Our villa is set up as a co-living space, where we live, relax, and eat together for the best possible community vibe. You’ll also have access to a workspace with good internet, lounge areas, and two sunny rooftops overlooking the mountains, the village, and the Atlantic coast. It’s the perfect place to unwind after surf, enjoy a cold beer at sunset, or do a bit of yoga to reset for the next day.
We’re close to everything in Tamraght, including shops, cafés, a pharmacy, a bakery, and berber taxis to nearby villages.
Whether you’re learning how to catch your first waves or already fully hooked on surfing, you’ll be in good hands with Shaka Surf Morocco. Their team is friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable, and they make sure every day is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable. They handle everything from instruction and equipment to choosing the best surf spot for your level, and even lunch.
Four days a week, we’ll be picked up at the villa after breakfast for a road trip along the coast in search of the best waves for your level. The day includes surfing, lunch, and time to chill on the beach before heading back in the afternoon. From there, you can relax at the house or visit the village cafés before we gather for dinner at the villa.
Wednesday is a lighter day with no scheduled activities. It’s souk day in Banana Village, about 10 minutes from Tamraght, if you’d like to shop for Moroccan spices, argan oil, or anything else that catches your eye.
We can also arrange a day in the Anti Atlas Mountains with our friends at Amazigh Hike and Yoga, offering a truly unique experience. Or you may prefer a traditional hammam, a massage, a full beach day, time on the rooftop, or a walk along the beachfront promenade to Taghazout. The choice is yours.
Food is a highlight of the stay. We serve our favorite Moroccan dishes at the villa so you can experience a variety of local flavors. In addition, we arrange one evening dinner in the sand dunes to watch the sunset, weather permitting. On windy days, we stay at the villa. We also keep one night free with no dinner planned, giving you the flexibility to do your own thing or join us at one of the cozy restaurants nearby.

We are located in the heart of Tamraght, a small village known for its laid-back atmosphere and warm, welcoming people. The villa is just 5 minutes from the beach and 2 minutes from local cafés and shops. It is around 40 minutes from Agadir airport or bus station, and you can reach Agadir from Marrakech by bus in about 2.5 hours.
