Welcome to Imagine Equus Farm, where a truly distinctive retreat has been created for women attorneys seeking space to step away from pressure and reconnect with themselves. Through Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL), you will spend time with horses and donkeys in a setting designed to help you release stress, rediscover joy in your work, reconnect with inner wisdom, and create room for yourself amid demanding trial work and endless billable hours.
The retreat will be led by EFEL Facilitator Kim Kupferer, a legal practitioner with 36 years of experience. As a former trial attorney at the highest levels, she understands the daily demands of legal work and the toll it can take. She also knows how much difference a balanced, inspired attorney can make in the world.
Because horses are remarkable partners in learning. This is an experiential retreat, meaning you learn through doing and engaging rather than through lectures. It is not about riding. Instead, the focus is on building connection with horses in a way that deepens understanding, presence, and awareness. Horses are powerful communicators who remain fully present and read energy with extraordinary skill. As teachers, they can help us notice incongruity, strengthen grounding, and support inner balance and overall well-being.
All equine work will be done on the ground, so no riding experience or previous horse experience is required. During the retreat, you will work with both horses and donkeys.
As lawyers, we know how essential non-verbal communication can be in the courtroom, during juror selection, or in mediation. This retreat is designed to sharpen that awareness. Through daily experiential learning sessions, you will explore intuitive, non-verbal connection, congruence between intention and action, and the influence of your own energy and the energy of others.
In addition to the equine work, there will be a strong focus on caring for you. You will receive a healing session with a Reiki Master practitioner and enjoy peaceful accommodations in cabins or the chalet, all created with comfort and serenity in mind. Meals will be organic, local, and catered by women chefs from the area. Time will also be built into each day for rest, reflection, or quiet walks through the woods and across the property.
This retreat also offers a chance to connect with the land, the animals, and the outdoors in a tranquil setting. It is an invitation to turn off the noise of the outside world and make yourself the focus.

Each full day includes a healthy and delicious lunch at 12:30, along with breaks and snacks. Timing may vary as needed to support the experiential nature of the work. During free time, you are welcome to explore the creeks, woods, and small waterfall on the 28 acres of Imagine Equus Farm.

Extra days may be added to your stay before or after the retreat for $185 a night.
Please note that fees do not include transportation or meals other than those indicated above.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation up to 60 days prior to the event start date results in a credit of half of the retreat tuition. There is no tuition credit for a cancellation 60 days or less before the event start date. Because retreats are kept very small, the cancellation policy is tighter, and registration must be submitted and accepted to confirm your space.
