Welcome to a place where lush jungle meets the surf. From the moment you arrive, you are invited into the Sister Surf family, where more than 20 years of experience helps create a safe, supportive environment in the water so you can truly relax and enjoy surfing to the fullest.
Set on Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast, the Osa Peninsula is known for its remarkable natural diversity and is home to around 2.5% of the world’s total biodiversity. Surrounded by vibrant rainforest, the hotel is tucked into the jungle with the waves just a short walk away. The surf here is soft and mellow, peeling along the point into the bay and finishing right in front of the hotel.
This part of Osa offers a rare surfing experience: uncrowded waves, beautiful scenery, and conditions that are especially well suited to beginners and intermediate surfers. Because the waves break far into the gulf, the bay often stays glassy with very little wind. During the summer months, wave height ranges from 3ft to 6ft.

Marjie is both a surf instructor and massage therapist. She has lived in Costa Rica for six years after arriving on a surf trip and falling in love with the country.

Surf Instructor / Certified yoga teacher
Middle sister, surf instructor + yoga instructor
Coco studied yoga at the Dyhana Ayurvedic Center in Sebastopol, California, and completed her 200 RYT in 2014. Her teaching blends Iyengar and Vinyasa yoga, with an emphasis on poses that support surfers. During the retreat, she teaches mostly yin yoga for deep stretching and relaxation, along with a few vinyasa classes focused on balance, strength, and breath.
She has been surfing for 15 years and has taught in the US Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, Australia, and Long Island, NY.
Surf Instructor / Aspiring artist
Chelsea grew up in the ocean. Coming from St. John in the US Virgin Islands, it was only natural that she developed a deep love for the sea. She spent much of her childhood sailing, but it wasn’t until age 12 that she began surfing with Marjie and Coco.
Once surfing entered her life, it quickly became a passion that took her around the world to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Hawaii, Australia, Puerto Rico, California, and Mexico. She studied Sports Management Surfing Studies in Australia, where she and the sisters became certified surf coaches and first imagined the retreat concept.
With more than 10 years of teaching experience, she brings patience, energy, and enthusiasm to every session, helping guests feel confident and supported in the water.

"In a word: perfection! Coco, Marjie and Chelsea are an incredible trio that inspire, educate and support. These ladies nailed every aspect of the retreat: the super cute tropical accommodations with everything we needed, the insane chef that created flavorful, locally-inspired vegan meals that nourished us, the thoughtfully planned schedule that was the perfect combination of active and relaxing… I could go on and on. They truly curated a perfect week. They found great local spots for us to surf and have breaks to ourselves, and were supportive out in the water, giving hugely helpful tips and knowledge, pushing me the extra bit I needed and ultimately giving me more confidence with each day. They're quite the team, each offering something unique, helpful and creative! Sweet pregnant Coco's yoga was sheer bliss, and much-needed. In addition to having a wonderful time, it was a welcome reminder to make time for the things I love, challenge my body and have FUN. These fearless, badass ladies are an inspiration for how life should be lived. Their love for the ocean and surfing is apparent in their beautiful spirits and ability to craft the ultimate surf retreat. ❤ A must-do for sure!"

"AMAZING experience with incredible women! Wow! The three sisters that own and operate this retreat are fantastic. From the surfing to the yoga everything was taught with love and compassion. Marjie, Coco & Chelsea are incredible surf instructors and our group (from all walks of life) feeling comfortable in the ocean and catching waves. Coco lead us in daily mediation that helped with breathing in the water as well as relaxing our bodies before and after surf. I cannot express my gratitude and love for these three ladies as well as the women that attended the retreat. Oh, and the food was so yummy!!! I will definitely be going back:)"
