This 5-day meditation retreat includes 3 full days of silence, offering a rare opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself. Throughout the retreat, you will spend time in nature and with horses, supported by structured meditation and gentle guidance.
Silence creates the space to meet yourself more directly. Without the usual noise of daily life or the need to respond to others, your attention turns inward and the patterns that shape your sense of self begin to soften.
In that stillness, the labels and roles we often rely on can fall away, allowing life to appear more clearly, like a calm lake reflecting reality. This can reveal where growth is needed and what may be holding you back.
Silence also helps you notice how you relate to others. Often, our reactions are shaped by old emotional wounds, sometimes rooted in childhood, which can lead us to judge, resist, or try to control what is happening around us. During this retreat, those reactions can be observed more clearly and released with support.
As you move through silence, structured meditation helps you process what arises. Feelings such as anger, grief, or irritation are no longer projected outward; instead, they can be felt, understood, and healed. In time, the mind settles like still water, creating space for peace, joy, love, compassion, and creativity to emerge more freely.
Sunnycote, 39 Silverdale Road, Arnside. LA23 2EL
You will stay in a beautiful large Victorian house close to the sea in Arnside. Arnside and Silverdale is classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The house is within easy walking distance of the bay, with views of the Lake District mountains, as well as forest and hills nearby.
The house accommodates 16 guests in total, but bookings for this silent retreat are limited to 10 people. This creates a calmer atmosphere, with less pressure on the kitchen and bathrooms, more peace and space, and the option for 4 guests to have a private room.
Styled in a quirky bohemian way, the house offers many places to sit and rest, plus a completely private walled garden. There are books to enjoy, and in your free time you are encouraged to walk, swim, and journal.
The house is within walking distance of the train station, with a short train journey from Lancaster. Arnside is also close to the M6; exit at Carnforth and continue for around 15 minutes along country lanes. The nearest airport is Manchester, with regular trains from Manchester to Lancaster, then a change to Arnside.
Please arrive at 4pm on Day 1. You will have one hour to check in, dinner is served at 5pm, and the welcome circle begins at 6pm, finishing at around 9pm.
