Silence, meditation, horses and lasting inner peace
Step into a five-day retreat designed to offer deep rest, quiet reflection, and genuine nourishment. Held in a peaceful setting close to beaches, woodlands, and mountain views, this experience invites you to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with what matters most.
Throughout the retreat, you will be supported by gentle guidance, emotional warmth, and the calming presence of therapy horses. The space is carefully held so you can feel safe, comfortable, and free to meet your own vulnerability with kindness. Many guests describe the experience as deeply grounding, restorative, and unexpectedly transformative.
The power of silence lies in its ability to soften the noise of everyday life. Without the constant influence of outside reactions and expectations, there is room to notice what is true beneath the surface. In that stillness, you may begin to see more clearly what supports your growth, what has been holding you back, and where healing is ready to unfold.
As the retreat progresses, the mind can settle into a quieter rhythm, opening space for peace, joy, love, compassion, and creativity. The intention is for you to leave with a renewed sense of connection to your heart, and from that place, a deeper confidence to move forward on your own terms.
Experience the magic:
The retreat begins on Sunday evening, when you arrive and settle in before silence starts. An opening gathering covers practical details such as housekeeping, meals, timing, and any concerns around communication, medication, or diet. From there, each day follows a simple, steady rhythm guided by the sound of a bell.
Each afternoon meditation begins with a theme for reflection, supported by readings and poems. You may choose to sit in the paddock, by the beach, or among the trees. Katherine, who has worked with the horses daily for years, leads the Meditate with Horses sessions with care and attention to safety.

A beautiful Victorian house near the sea in Arnside provides the setting for this retreat. Decorated in a bohemian style, it includes quiet areas, a private walled garden, and plenty of books. In your free time, you are encouraged to walk, swim, or journal.
If you wish to extend your stay, there is also the option to remain for an extra night and book a beach ride on one of the horses.
The Location
Arnside is an unspoilt village in Cumbria, set within the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape. Known for its scenery, wildlife, and walking routes, it sits on the estuary where the River Kent meets Morecambe Bay. The area offers historic charm, a scenic promenade, unique tidal phenomena, and excellent hikes, including Arnside Knott for panoramic views across the Lake District and Morecambe Bay.
Arnside has also appeared on several “Best Places to Live” and “Beautiful Seaside Towns” lists, including recognition by The Times in July 2025 as one of the best places to live by the sea in the UK.
