Sacred Pasar Agung Mountain Temple

Pasar Agung, known as the marketplace of the gods, is a remarkable temple and a powerful place of energy, set beneath the sacred, brooding presence of Mount Agung. On clear days, it offers sweeping views across south and east Bali. The journey begins with a 45-minute drive to Selat, continuing past ancient lava flows and through the villages of Sebudi and Sogra (Heaven) into the high-altitude woods, where the temple car park is located. From there, it is a 20-minute walk up a winding stairway to the temple itself.

This visit is best experienced as the Balinese do: as a pilgrimage for blessings and energy. Temple attire is required, with at least a sarong and sash. Assistance with purchase or hire can be arranged. Your guide will bring offerings and introduce you to the gentle, pure form of Balinese prayer. The tour lasts about 3.5 hours, with the option to continue walking and hiking farther into the woods and beyond the tree line for a full-day experience.
