The Sanskrit word “Prashant” refers to absolute peace, “Jivan” means life, and “Darshanam” means vision or seeing. Together, the phrase conveys a vision of life that leads to complete inner peace. This retreat is rooted in the teachings of Baba Shantananda, a remarkable spiritual figure who taught in India for 14 years and has spent the past 16 years living in seclusion in the Himalayas. Its aim is to share this wisdom so that participants can learn to guide themselves.
Participants may visit the very place where Baba Shantananda lived and shared his teachings. Today, Naresh ji, a direct disciple of Baba Shantananda, lives there and supports sincere seekers. There is no teaching fee, and guests are offered free food, accommodation, and instruction. At present, however, the retreat is open only to men. Efforts are being made to make it available for women as well, but this will take time. The location is very remote, and life there is close to a primitive lifestyle.
In addition, there are coordinators around the world who have received this knowledge and offer it purely in service. They can be contacted directly for teaching arrangements, and the retreat may be organized according to nationality, location, and individual circumstances. No teacher is permitted to charge a fee for instruction, although voluntary offerings as a gesture of respect are accepted.
