Liveaboard Adventure to Malapascua and Visayas
From September 28 to October 3, 2027, join a 10-night liveaboard journey through one of the Philippines’ most celebrated diving regions. The Visayas are known for nutrient-rich waters, thriving ecosystems, and an exceptional range of marine life, making this route a rewarding choice for divers who enjoy variety, color, and abundance beneath the surface.
Throughout the trip, diving will take place around Cebu, Cabilao, Panglao, Balicasag, Pescador, Apo Island Marine Sanctuary, and the critter-rich area of Dauin, with a special stop at remote Malapascua. The itinerary includes reef diving, muck diving, encounters with huge schools of fish, pelagic life, macro subjects, and more. One of the highlights is Monad Shoal, the world-famous site where thresher sharks are consistently seen, offering a truly unique experience.
This route is a favorite for its remarkable biodiversity and relaxed pace, combining memorable diving with an easygoing liveaboard atmosphere.
This is a recreational diving trip; technical diving is not offered. Rebreathers are welcome. Advanced Open Water certification and 40 logged dives are recommended for this route. If you are interested but do not currently meet the requirements, please speak with Ann.
All guests must complete a fit to dive form. At this time, there is no COVID-19 vaccination requirement, though this may change in the future.
Local taxes and port fees must be paid in advance and are added to the final payment. The estimated amount is about $250 USD to $300 USD. Tips are paid in cash, while other vessel expenses may be paid by credit card subject to a 3% administrative fee.
Sofnolime and rebreather gas must be ordered four months in advance.
Land tours may be available before or after your time on the boat, and your trip leader can help arrange them. Air schedules have not yet been published, and a contract will be needed to get everyone to Honiara to meet the vessel. Airfare is not included, but assistance with arrangements from your location is available.
Transfers are included from the staging hotel only; transfers to and from the airport are not included. In-transit accommodations are generally needed for one night on the inbound journey, and a hotel may also be needed on the outbound portion.
All guest spaces are reserved upon deposit. A minimum number of guests must sign up by the deadline for an Oceanic Ventures trip leader to attend. A roommate cannot be guaranteed unless you are booking with someone you know, so a single supplement may apply.
A passport must have at least six months of validity remaining before expiration. No refunds are given for missed flights or boats. Trip insurance and diving accident insurance are required, and vessel and OVI travel releases must be completed. Please bring a copy of your logbook, c-card, and diving insurance.
All prices are subject to change until booked and ticketed. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to help protect against unexpected changes, including illness, family emergencies, weather, or other disruptions.
