Movement, flexibility, and soft acrobatics come together in this week-long retreat in paradise, hosted at Casa Chango Mexico in Puerto Escondido from December 5-12, 2026, with Samy Nevarez and Kuba Odzioba.
Expect a full immersion in movement, surrounded by the beach, fresh local food, new friends, and plenty of time to learn and grow. The experience is designed to deepen body awareness, expand mobility, and open new pathways for connection through movement. Each day includes two classes: mornings are dedicated to Soft Acrobatics, while afternoons focus on Flexibility & Mobility.
In Samy’s Flexibility & Mobility sessions, the emphasis is on safe, sustainable flexibility through joint preparation, strength within range, controlled stretching, and intelligent mobility work. Drawing inspiration from contemporary dance, yoga, and contortion training, the class supports alignment, breath, and a deeper understanding of the body’s mechanics. Participants will leave with practical tools to support greater freedom, resilience, and fluidity in their own practice.
Kuba’s Soft Acrobatics workshop offers a structured exploration of the language of soft acrobatics, presenting it as a clear and coherent movement system. The practice is built through conditioning, coordination drills, and structural awareness, with material organized around arching and rolling acrobatics. Spirals are a key concept throughout, helping the body redistribute momentum with softness, continuity, and ease. The workshop is accessible to movers from many backgrounds, including dance, gymnastics, parkour, yoga, and general movement practice.
During the retreat, participants will also take part in two Partnering Masterclasses focused on trust, communication, weight sharing, counterbalance, and fluid transitions. Through guided exercises and improvisational scores, the work invites sensitivity, listening, and collaborative exploration.
Outside of class, there will be time to relax by the pool, rest in hammocks, enjoy massages, and take in the natural surroundings. Guests will also have opportunities to visit local markets and beaches, as well as experience the area’s nightlife. Beach outings include swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and releasing baby turtles into the sea, with optional evening adventures such as a bioluminescent lagoon and a local night market.
