Kotor is a coastal town and municipality on the Bay of Boka in Montenegro, set within one of the Adriatic’s most stunning inlets. This historic merchant and sailors’ city has much to discover. Boka Kotorska is among the deepest and longest bays in the Adriatic Sea and is often described as the southernmost fjord in Europe. Its remarkably preserved old Mediterranean archipelago, encircled by imposing city walls, is part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage list.
Across the city, narrow streets and lively squares are framed by historic buildings, including the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon from the 12th century, one of Kotor’s most recognizable landmarks. The city walls are especially impressive, stretching about 5 km, reaching up to 20 meters in height and 10 meters in width. A walk along them leads to San Giovanni Fortress, located around 280 meters above sea level, where panoramic views open across the bay.
During this private tour, you will also enjoy a cooking class and lunch at a local family home, offering a taste of traditional hospitality and homemade cuisine.
Kotor is truly a destination not to be missed.
