This retreat begins on Tuesday afternoon and is offered in person only, with full-time attendance required.
Centered on the qualities of Jizo Bodhisattva, guardian of all that comes from the earth, the retreat explores benevolence, optimism, fearlessness, determination, and vow. A distinctive part of the program includes dedicated time for art projects, creative practice, and a slide show and talk about Jizo.
As part of the retreat, participants will create small Jizo-related items.
Because of the schedule, practice will take place outdoors as well as outside the zendo for art-making, and no online option will be available.
Sesshin is a rigorous and sometimes challenging silent meditation retreat and is not recommended for beginners. To attend in person, participants must have previously attended either a silent weekend retreat or a five- to seven-day silent retreat at another Zen Center before registering for longer Zen retreats.
A $50 deposit holds your space, with the balance due on arrival.
