Jivamukti Yoga

Description
Jivamukti is a compound of the two Sanskrit words "jiva" and "mukti". "Jiva" refers to the individual soul, the ego. Whereas "mukta" means liberation. So the aim of the practice is to help the body through the 5 fundamental principles of yoga (ahimsa, nada, dhyana, shastra and bhakti) to liberate the body from the Ego from the big E and find inner peace.
Born on the streets of New York in the 1980s, the yoga practice itself was founded by founders David Life and Sharon Gannon in India, first spreading the knowledge they had acquired in India to bohemians and then to a large part of New York. It is a physically active and dynamic practice with a pendulum pattern of activity - starting slowly to wake up the muscles, moving towards a practice with small challenges, more interesting asanas (body postures) and at the end, gently calming the body with stretches and a short meditation.
This class is for students with at least some familiarity with yoga who like a challenge.
During the class the teacher assists the students, helping them to go deeper into the asana.
The class lasts 90 minutes. The practice is in English.
