In the traditional gurukulam model, students lived alongside their guru and absorbed yoga through dialogue, daily life, and direct experience. Inspired by that approach, Pura Veda Gurukulam offers a learning environment where the many dimensions of yoga can be understood deeply, until yoga becomes part of your being. This training is designed to strengthen your personal practice while giving you the tools to guide your own students through a meaningful and transformative yoga journey.
Created to follow the eight limbs of yoga (Ashtanga) as presented by Patanjali (Raja Yoga), this teacher training invites you to experience:
DEEP ROOTS:
Explore and apply the Yamas and Niyamas both inwardly and outwardly, building a solid foundation for your practice.
DETOXIFICATION:
Work through blockages and stiffness as you move more deeply into the asanas, allowing them to reach further into both the physical and subtle bodies.
TRANSFORMATION:
Learn pranayama techniques that support the release of physical, emotional, and mental trauma and blockages. Repattern your mindset by letting go of habits that no longer serve you and replacing them with intentional new ones.
AYURVEDA:
Discover the benefits of balancing health through yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda, with a morning routine (dinacharya) built into the daily schedule.
BALANCE:
Understand the five elements and doshic theory, and learn how to apply them to create balance within yourself and in your yoga classes.
HIGH ENERGY (PRANA/CHI/QI):
Support your well-being with three high-prana organic vegetarian meals each day.
As a Yoga Alliance Registered School, the curriculum offers a broad and in-depth education in yoga, going beyond the standard requirements outlined by Yoga Alliance.
This YogiBeYoga and Ayurveda Teacher Training brings together 64 years of combined experience in education, yoga, and Ayurveda. It is distinctive for its integrated understanding of Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, which is intended to be practiced in harmony with yoga.
To preserve the integrity of the space and the training, silent hours are observed from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, giving participants who wish to do so the opportunity to deepen their inward journey.
