At the BARAKA Retreat Center
NOTICE >> Upcoming group retreats and camps; more information here.
At the BARAKA Retreat Center, part of our holistic center and located in a forest homestead near Vilnius, we offer individual retreats designed for those who want to step away from the noise and pressure of city life. Surrounded by nature, you can restore inner balance in a peaceful setting that supports stillness, simplicity, and a return to yourself. The atmosphere is shaped by a safe and cozy meditation space, the special spiritual energy of the place, a simple lifestyle, time in nature, and the cultivation of inner silence.
We offer several types of individual retreats:
Below is a brief overview of each option.
This option is suited to those looking for a quiet and sacred place where they can step away from everyday life, rest without disturbance, regain strength, restore inner harmony, deepen their connection with the inner self, or gain a fresh perspective on life.
For emotional healing and recovery
This format combines all the benefits of the first option — nature, silence, and the spiritually charged environment — with therapy, consultations, and practices that help harmonize the mind.
It is intended for people seeking relief from long-term stress, as well as those dealing with anxiety or panic disorders, depression, insomnia, phobias, addictions, or post-traumatic stress. During the initial consultation, an individually tailored program of therapeutic practices is created. It may include breathwork and relaxation exercises, meditation, selected yoga techniques, mindfulness practices, modern psychotechnologies such as EFT and eye-movement methods, sound healing, and, for those who wish or need it, work therapy such as forest cleanup, chopping firewood, or caring for flowers. During consultations, participants also learn how to continue the practices independently and are guided through therapeutic meditation sessions.
Designed to help resolve an important question or life situation.
This retreat is intended for those who want to step away from daily routines and life challenges in order to look at their situation with fresh eyes, reconsider life tasks and strategy, and listen more closely to the voice of inner wisdom in search of answers to important questions.
Consultations include psychosynthesis-based problem-solving practices, creative meditation, contemplation, work with subpersonalities, guided meditation, and other techniques.
This is a strict retreat with limitations on contact, food, sleep, daily schedule, and behavior, created to elevate spiritual practice to a higher level. Before the retreat, a conversation with the retreat leader is required, during which instructions and practices are provided. This format is based on the Sufi retreat tradition of Chilla. Sufi and yoga meditation and breathwork practices are used. It is suitable only for those who already have meditation experience, so not everyone is accepted.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of belief, with full respect for each person’s religious convictions.
Location. The BARAKA Retreat Center is in a forest homestead in the Širvintai district, in Kaimynai village, near Žebokšta Lake and close to the Musė River. It is 39 km from central Vilnius and 34 km from the BIG shopping center. The homestead includes 1.2 hectares of forest, 2.3 hectares of land, and a pond.
Here, complete peace welcomes you on arrival, interrupted only by the tapping of woodpeckers, which are abundant in this area, or the cry of an eagle nesting in a tall pine. Almost every day, especially early in the morning, you may see a family of roe deer, partridges hiding in the meadow, and sometimes the enchanting dance of cranes. The purple sunsets are breathtaking, and at night the stars seem especially close.
Retreats are available:
To preserve the sacred and pure atmosphere of this place, the use of intoxicants — alcohol and drugs — is strictly not tolerated.
Why the Retreat Center is called “BARAKA”. In Sufism, baraka (also spelled barakah) means blessings and spiritual power that a spiritual teacher or saint can transmit to someone who is ready to receive it. It can also be experienced in sacred places, near holy graves, in temples, or in caves where enlightened yogis or monks have meditated.
When you arrive, we hope you will feel baraka — the special energy and spirit of this place — because our Retreat Center stands in a natural place of power, and as a spiritual center we humbly receive blessings, guidance, and protection from the saints of the Gudri Shahi Sufi order and the Chishti Sufi order.
