🌺 HULA OLA: Hula Class on the Big Island for Health, Harmony & Aloha 🌺
Held every Monday from 4–5:30PM at the Grow Room, Hawaiian Sanctuary in Pāhoa, this weekly hula class offers a meaningful way to connect with the traditions and spirit of Hawaiʻi. Rooted in the wisdom of movement, it brings body, mind, and spirit into alignment through a practice that supports holistic wellness and cultural connection.
Guided by respected Kumu Tia, participants will explore hula fundamentals, cultural protocol, and Hawaiian values (mea waiwai) in a welcoming setting that encourages growth, respect, and appreciation. Whether you live on the island or are visiting as part of your journey, this is an invitation to move with purpose, honor tradition, and embody aloha.
With more than 30 years of experience, Kumu Tia carries a deep commitment to preserving and sharing the arts of hula, ʻōlelo (language), oli (chants), mele (songs), and moʻolelo (stories). Her teaching background includes public schools, private settings, charter programs, community colleges, and the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Her approach offers more than dance—it is a life practice grounded in aloha, sustainability, and connection.
Join this unique hula class on the Big Island and experience a sacred tradition in a space that honors the land, people, and culture of Hawaiʻi. Whether you are beginning your hula path or returning to it, HULA OLA invites you into a rhythm of cultural wellness and aloha.
