Shinrin Yoku, or forest bathing, is a Japanese meditative practice designed to help you switch off, reconnect with nature, and support overall well-being.
Evidence suggests that it can:
Boost the immune system
Reduce blood pressure and stress levels
Improve sleep
Increase cancer-fighting cells
Act as a natural antidepressant.
Prices start from £150 for 2 people, with group enquiries welcome.
This ancient practice was first documented in 800 BC in the Japanese religion of Shinto, which teaches that everyone and everything is connected. Devotees spent time in nature to reach a deeply relaxed state, and today there are more than 60 national centres in Japan alone.
Hill Farm is set within ancient woodlands, and it is a privilege to host the Institute of Shinrin Yoku’s annual training course.
We can arrange sessions for groups, couples, or individuals, usually lasting around 2.5 hours. This sensory journey through the woods connects you with the natural environment through sights, smells, textures, and tastes, leading to a profound sense of relaxation. The benefits are well documented and are prescribed by health professionals around the world.
Our sessions are recommended by The Guardian.
We also offer Shinrin Yoku vouchers as a thoughtful wellness gift. Please enquire for more information.
