What Is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the ancient science of life and living, offering practical guidance through diet and lifestyle that remains deeply relevant today. It can help support the demands of modern life, from managing stress and maintaining healthy habits to cultivating more energy and balance. Led by NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) registered Ayurvedic Health Counselor Judy Moulton, this weekend retreat provides an introductory experience of ayurvedic treatments and techniques designed to deepen self-understanding and bring greater harmony into daily life.

During this retreat, you will have the opportunity to:

3 Day / 2 Night Ayurvedic Retreat

Your retreat includes the following bodywork treatments and interactive lectures:

  • 60 Minute Massage: Experienced massage and bodywork therapists personalize each session for comfort and deep relaxation. Additional treatments or sessions are available throughout the weekend as add-ons.
  • 60 Minute Shirodhara: One of the most celebrated ayurvedic treatments, Shirodhara involves a stream of warm oil poured onto the center of the forehead. This deeply meditative and relaxing service is followed by a scalp massage.
  • 60-Minute Biofeedback Session: In this modern computerized session, biofeedback techniques are used to assess breathing patterns and resilience, defined as the ability to prepare for, recover from, and adapt to stress and challenge.
  • 60 Minute Ayurvedic Consultation: Receive personalized diet and lifestyle recommendations tailored to your needs and goals, along with supportive yogic practices. You’ll also learn how to build a daily self-care routine that is nourishing and gently cleansing for mind, emotions, and physical health.
  • Introduction to Ayurveda Lecture: Gain an understanding of Ayurveda’s core principles and discover how this knowledge can increase self-awareness and support greater balance in your life.

This cottage includes a work desk with wifi and a single person sofa pullout. The bedroom is a cheerful sanctuary with a full size bed and walk in closet. Our chalet-style accommodation features a spacious shared living room area that serves as the central hub for our 4 Private Two-Bedroom Suites. Each suite has a private bath, living room/sitting area, and a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator (no cooking facilities provided). Additionally, each suite boasts a private bedroom with a full-size bed on the first floor, a pullout couch in the living room, and a roomy loft with a queen-sized bed on the second floor.
