Rejuvenate and reconnect through an immersive escape surrounded by nature. This retreat is designed for guests seeking rest, healing, and clarity in a peaceful rainforest setting.

Good to Know

• Rainforest living: Expect monkeys, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife, along with occasional insects or small creatures.
• Location: Puerto Viejo and the beaches are only a 20-minute drive away, offering a balance of seclusion and access.
• Access: Bungalows are located 50m to 150m from the parking area and require walking on uneven terrain and stairs.
• Vehicle requirement: A 4x4 or equivalent is necessary due to the rugged 1.5km uphill road from the front gate.
• Transfers: If you do not have a suitable vehicle, rides can be arranged. Arrival and departure transfers are free; additional rides are $5 each way from 8am to 9pm and must be scheduled in advance.
• Check-in: Please share your expected arrival time so staff can be ready for you. Check-ins after 9pm incur a $20–$40 fee, depending on the time.
• Dining: This bungalow does not include kitchen amenities. Meals are available in the restaurant.

Bungalow Options

Charming Rainforest Bungalow: Features a queen platform bed and a single sleeper futon, a private bathroom, a living area, and an outdoor terrace with hammocks overlooking the rainforest. The eco-friendly design uses screens instead of windows to support natural airflow, and the rainforest climate is about 10°F cooler than nearby Puerto Viejo.

Cabin: Ideal for families or groups of friends, this cabin includes 5 private rooms and 2 external shared baths. Each bedroom has its own entrance, and guests access the bathrooms from the terrace. Sleeping arrangements can be set as 2 twin beds or 1 double bed per room. The cabin also features a community terrace, lounge area with hammocks, and shared facilities with 4 toilets and 2 showers in total. Breakfast is included, dinner is available 6 days a week, and a cleaning fee is included in the stay.

King or Queen Bed Bungalow: Offers a queen or king platform bed, making it suitable for solo travelers or couples with children. Large screened windows frame views of the rainforest and/or Caribbean Sea. The bungalow also includes a private bathroom, a cozy living space, and a private terrace with hammocks.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

• Final balance is due upon arrival at Samasati Retreat and Rainforest Sanctuary.
• All pricing and payments are in US Dollars.
• Cash and credit cards are accepted, except American Express and Discover.
• If paying by credit card on arrival, please notify your bank in advance to avoid payment issues.
• Deposits and payments are non-refundable, including in the case of early departure.
• If cancellation is made 2 weeks before arrival, a Samasati Credit Voucher will be issued for use within 6 months of the original reservation date.
