Ecstatic Dance

Description

A music-led movement experience where every expression is welcome. There are no steps to learn and no “right” way to do it.

Ecstatic Dance

Ecstatic Dance is a music-led movement experience that welcomes every mood, energy level, and body. There is nothing to perform and no choreography to follow, so you are free to move in whatever way feels natural. This is your space to explore.

Led by a carefully curated sound journey, the session unfolds from soft, grounding rhythms into more energising beats, then gradually returns to stillness. With no talking on the dance floor, participants can release self-consciousness and let a sense of freedom and play emerge.

Ecstatic Dance offers more than an uplifting moment. It may help release physical tension, support nervous system regulation, lift your mood, and reconnect you with your body in a way that feels grounding and restorative. Many people leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more energised, as if they have pressed a reset button.

For anyone new to movement practices like this, it is an invitation to stay curious, try something different, and perhaps surprise yourself. Some come simply to switch off and enjoy themselves; others discover something deeper along the way. At the very least, you will have a good dance. Anything else is a bonus.

Expect a rich tapestry of sounds, from tribal, jazz, funk, house, D&B, medicine music and everything in between, woven together with live djembe percussion, rhythmic drumming, and soothing vocals to create a fully immersive experience.

Come as you are. Move as you feel. That is enough.
