Combo Tour: Poas Volcano National Park – Doka Coffee Tour – La Paz Waterfall Gardens

Begin the day with breakfast at Doka Coffee Estate, where a guided coffee tour takes place on a working plantation. Here, you will discover the traditional methods experts use to create some of Costa Rica’s finest coffee, and around the world. The journey through cultivation, harvesting, and roasting of the Golden Bean is presented in a hands-on way, ending with a chance to enjoy the finished product.

Next, continue to Poas Volcano National Park, where cooler temperatures and the lush vegetation of the cloud forest create a striking contrast. Poás Volcano is an active stratovolcano rising 2,708 metres (8,885 ft). Its crater measures more than a mile across and reaches 1050 feet deep. Since 1828, it has erupted 40 times, including in April 2017.

At the volcano, there will be time to take in the impressive main crater and its sulfur fumaroles, as well as hike the trail to beautiful Botos Lagoon while learning about the park’s diverse ecosystems.

After Poás, the tour continues to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a buffet lunch rated 4 Forks by the Costa Rican Tourism Council, featuring several traditional Costa Rican dishes and more.

At La Paz Waterfall Gardens, walk along trails surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and enjoy flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, monkeys, and hummingbirds. Educational animal exhibits are also included, such as the Aviary, Butterfly Observatory, Hummingbird Garden, Serpentarium, Jungle Cats Exhibit, and Frog Exhibit.
