A three-day immersion in embodied awareness, guided meditation, and intuitive movement, this retreat invites you to explore the stillness beneath all motion and the clarity that naturally emerges when body, breath, and awareness come into alignment. Led by Narada and Ananda Devi, the course offers a spacious, grounded setting for inquiry and presence.
Using practical tools such as meditation, asana, free movement, and simple self-inquiry, we return again and again to direct experience. In doing so, we begin to sense the stillness that supports every movement, along with the aliveness present in every moment of rest.
Across three days of sharing, the emphasis remains on simplicity. Through guided meditation, asana, embodied awareness, and intuitive movement, participants are encouraged to release spiritual striving and relax into the stillness that underlies all experience.
Narada offers ideas and methods for exploring Awareness and the nature of Self, while Ananda Devi brings a grounded, earthy, feminine presence to the retreat.
Her approach invites a descent into the body — into breath, sensation, and the natural intelligence of the nervous system. Here, stillness is not treated as an abstract concept, but as something felt directly: a quality that arises when the body softens, the breath flows freely, and gravity is allowed to support us.
Through gentle somatic movement, embodied meditation, and intuitive free flow, Ananda Devi offers ways to:
This embodied approach deepens the inquiry by offering a lived sense of stillness that supports Narada’s exploration of the underlying stillness of Conscious Presence.
When you sit in meditation, do you notice stillness, inner calm, or a sense of spaciousness? Perhaps it feels as though the world slows down. Or maybe you do not need to sit at all — perhaps you are walking in a meadow, and beauty suddenly becomes quiet and timeless. Breathless awareness.
Or perhaps it happens in the middle of an airport, a busy street, or a supermarket, when the activity around you appears against a backdrop of stillness. These moments point toward the silent call of Awareness and invite reflection on whether the Self may be something more than the body, mind, or ego we have been conditioned to identify with.

About the Ashram
A spiritual sanctuary, the ashram is one of the few authentic ashrams outside India, offering a living connection between the teachings of the yogic sages and sincere modern seekers. Founded in 1986, it has supported learning and transformation for thousands of people over the years.
Set in the green hills of Wales, UK, the ashram is a natural sanctuary and peaceful haven. This quiet, safe, and nurturing environment supports deeper engagement with the teachings and practices of yoga.
About The Teachers
All courses are guided by senior teachers with nearly 100 years of yoga teaching experience between them. The ashram is also supported by a resident team of yogis dedicated to enquiry and service, many of whom are trained yoga teachers or currently in training.

Mouna & Karma Yoga
Mouna
Mouna refers to periods of silence, during which we continue with yoga practice and daily life without speaking. It is an important part of ashram life.
At the ashram, mouna is observed daily from 9pm until breakfast the following morning, for the first half of lunch and supper, and for longer periods during some courses and resident retreats.
Karma Yoga
Karma yoga is an essential part of retreat life and ashram life more broadly. It means doing work in the spirit of service and Awareness, recognising that even ordinary tasks can be transformative.
This may include gardening, cooking, housework, or maintaining the buildings — whatever is needed at the time. On a deeper level, it means being fully engaged in the task while remaining connected to inner being.
What To Expect
Some visitors arrive for the first time after spending time in other ashrams or spiritual communities; for others, it is a completely new experience. In either case, we recommend coming with an open mind and a willingness to make the most of your time here.
Practical Details
If you are planning to visit the ashram, there are practical details to consider, including how to get here, what to bring, food and drink, and ashram rules and regulations.
Health - Physical & Mental
While every care is taken to make the ashram as safe as possible and retreats accessible to as many people as possible, participation is at your own responsibility. Please ensure you are fit and well enough to take part in yoga practice, and seek medical advice if needed before undertaking asana, meditation, pranayama, Yoga Nidra, or similar practices.
As part of the booking process, you will be asked to share any relevant physical or mental health circumstances that could be affected by the practices offered. Mandala Yoga Ashram accepts no responsibility for injury arising from failure to follow teacher instructions or from non-disclosure of medical conditions, injury, or physical impairment.
How to Book
To reserve a place on one of the retreats, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance due before the retreat begins or on arrival.

All deposits are non-refundable. Any cancellation of a course or stay booking will result in the loss of the deposit paid. Cancellations may be made by phone, email, or in writing.
In exceptional circumstances, the course director or operations manager may waive this policy at their discretion, provided full details and reasons are given at the time of cancellation.
