At the heart of the Mahayana Buddhist path lies compassion: the sincere wish that others may be free from suffering.
For this year’s Easter retreat, Geshe Wangchen has chosen Arya Nāgārjuna’s short text, Praise to Satisfying Sentient Beings, as the teaching focus.
This concise and profound work highlights the importance of cherishing all sentient beings—caring for their well-being, developing a genuine interest in them, helping wherever we can, and consistently avoiding harm. Cultivating this attitude and putting it into practice is said to be the most pleasing offering to all the buddhas.
Geshe-la will explain the text and inspire participants to deepen their Buddhist practice by following Nāgārjuna’s precious advice to care sincerely for all sentient beings.
This uplifting teaching will also help create the right motivation for receiving the Medicine Buddha Jenang, which Geshe Wangchen will bestow this weekend for those who wish to receive the official permission to practice and strengthen their connection with Medicine Buddha practice.
If you would like to take refuge this weekend, please let us know.
