Yoga, Zen Meditation & Sufi Dancing Retreat in Kerala
Set in the serene backwaters of Alleppey, this retreat invites you into a rich blend of yoga, Zen meditation, mantra chanting, and Sufi whirling. Across four days, you will move through sacred phrases and practices drawn from Yogic tradition, Advaita, Zen Buddhism, and Sufism, while also exploring teachings from spiritual masters. The experience weaves together breath, music, poetry, dance, sitting meditation, and walking meditation to open the heart and quiet the mind.
Sufi practice is presented as the wisdom of the heart and the path of love, while Zen offers stillness and spacious awareness. Through zikhr, breath, sound, and movement, the retreat creates a gentle atmosphere where prayer, love, and meditation naturally unfold. Whirling, zazen, and the reading of Sufi poetry and Zen haiku are used to support a deeper sense of inner silence and connection.
The retreat takes place near Vembanad Lake, in the Kerala backwaters of Alleppey, at Sambodhi Yoga Retreat & Zen Center in Poonthope, Ashramam Ward. This quiet location in North Alleppey is easily accessible for guests staying in the Alleppey backwaters, town, or Marari area, and can be reached from Alleppey Railway Station in around 20–25 minutes.
Guests will practice yoga, Zen meditation, mantra chanting, and a Sufi whirling workshop, with daily sessions designed to support self-realization, reflection, and shared learning at a relaxed pace.
