Ceremony for the Spirit of Water “Yaku”
Shamanic Ceremonies
Cuzco – Perú
This shamanic healing ceremony is a psychomagic act in which the spirit of water is invited to help cleanse the negative energetic charge we carry within us — energies that may be experienced as accidents, physical pain, or a sense of imbalance when no clear healing response appears.
In Andean tradition, water and its spirits are seen as subterranean forces that support this kind of healing through ceremonies dedicated to the Andean Ñustas, or mermaids, who are always present in the sacred memory of every Andean shamanic ceremony.
Participants are guided through prayers, songs, and music performed by the shaman, while water is gently spread over the body as part of the cleansing process. This ritual is also accompanied by three herbs: Ruda, Romero, and Retama.
The ceremony is designed to release, restore, and support internal balance, opening space for healing and personal evolution.
