SUP Yoga Retreat: A memorable weekend in the mystical Waldviertel

For me, yoga on the water is the ultimate dream: fresh morning air, warm sunlight, cool water all around, and a practice that can be both challenging and deeply relaxing on the stand up paddle board. Once again, this year brings an exclusive SUP yoga retreat — this time at the beautifully mystical Ottensteiner Stausee in the heart of the Waldviertel.

Come aboard

Our days begin with a shared SUP yoga class that invites you to unwind and settle in. In the morning, we practice yoga on the water to start the day in harmony. Arrival is possible on Friday, and the first shared session begins on Saturday morning. Afterward, we enjoy a warm breakfast at our accommodation, Vita Ristorante in Peygarten-Ottenstein, or on Sunday a relaxed brunch.

On Saturday, the program includes an exciting stand up paddling workshop, where you can refine your paddling technique under professional guidance. The rest of the day is yours to shape as you wish: take a refreshing swim at the lakeside beach, plan an excursion, or enjoy the soothing effects of the sauna. Plenty of time is set aside for rest and relaxation.

In the evening — except on departure day — we come together again for another SUP yoga class. As the sun slowly sets and the lake grows quiet, we deepen our practice. A shared dinner rounds off the day in a relaxed atmosphere. And afterward, you can either enjoy a glass at the beach bar or retreat to your accommodation with a good book. The choice is entirely yours.

Retreat details 2026

The SUP yoga retreat takes place from Friday, 7 August to Sunday, 9 August 2026 at Ottensteiner Stausee in the Waldviertel region of Lower Austria.

The schedule includes morning practice on the water, followed by breakfast together. During the day, there is a paddling workshop and plenty of time to relax. In the evening, we return to SUP yoga, and the day ends with dinner shared together.

Investment & inclusions

Accommodation including half board starts at 143 euros per person for two nights, plus a local tax of 5.20 euros. The SUP yoga package is priced at 222 euros. The price for SUP rental equipment will be announced soon. Alternatively, you may bring your own SUP board.

The group size is limited to a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve yoginis/yogis. In the event of persistent bad weather, the yoga classes will take place in a covered space at the hotel.
