Day 1 – Arrival in Dharamshala & McLeod Ganj | Tibetan Culture
Arrive in Dharamshala, with McLeod Ganj set at approximately 6,830 ft / 2,080 m. After check-in, visit the Dalai Lama Temple Complex and take a relaxed walk through the Tibetan Market. Spend the evening enjoying café time and sweeping mountain views. Dinner and overnight stay in Dharamshala.
Day 2 – Dharamshala Region | Arts, Heritage & Views
Explore the broader region with a visit to the Norbulingka Institute, a center for Tibetan arts, and the Losel Doll Museum. If time allows, you may also stop at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium for dramatic views of the Dhauladhars. The day offers a balanced mix of culture and easy exploration. Day 3 – Dharamshala to Palampur | Tea Country Drive
Drive to Palampur, a 35 km journey of about 1.5 hours, located at 4,300 ft / 1,310 m. After check-in, discover tea gardens and viewpoints overlooking the Kangra Valley. An optional visit to a nearby monastery adds a quiet moment of reflection. The evening is free to enjoy the calm of the rolling estates. Overnight stay in Palampur.
Day 4 – Palampur & Baijnath | Temples & Estates
Begin the morning amid tea estates and local lanes. Later, head to Baijnath to visit the ancient Baijnath Temple, admired for its stone architecture and riverside setting. Return to Palampur by evening for a restful overnight stay.
Day 5 – Palampur to Bir | Village Hike & Waterfall
Travel to Bir, around 30 km and roughly 1.5 hours away, arriving at 5,000 ft / 1,524 m. Continue to Gunerh, where a guided hike leads through forest paths and village trails to a nearby waterfall. Return to Bir by afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Bir.
