This relaxed Himachal itinerary is designed for travellers drawn to quiet forests, rewarding hikes, and remote mountain villages. Starting in Sojha, a cedar-framed hamlet near Jalori Pass, it continues into the untouched beauty of Tirthan Valley before ending in the tucked-away village of Sonaugi near Manali. With alpine lakes, heritage walks, riverside downtime, and village trails, the journey invites a close connection with nature while reflecting Infinite Journeys’ unhurried, experience-led Himalayan style.
Arrive in Sojha at approximately 7,700 ft (2,347 m) and settle into your forest accommodation. The day remains intentionally light to support acclimatisation and ease. Take peaceful strolls through deodar forests, soak in the mountain scenery, and enjoy the calm pace of this offbeat hamlet. The evening is free for stargazing or reading beside the fire. Dinner and overnight stay in Sojha.
Travel to Jalori Pass (12 km | around 45 minutes), reaching 10,800 ft (3,292 m). From here, begin the scenic trek to Serolsar Lake, a moderate 5 km one-way hike through oak and rhododendron forests. Spend time at the serene lake before descending and returning to Sojha by afternoon. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight stay in Sojha.
Leave Sojha for Tirthan Valley (35 km | around 1 hour). On arrival, check in and enjoy an unhurried afternoon by the river. Gentle walks along the Tirthan River offer time to appreciate its clear waters and forest-lined banks. The pace of the day is deliberately slow, giving you space to unwind and settle into the valley’s peaceful atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay in Tirthan.
Today’s exploration brings together the cultural and natural character of Tirthan. Start with a short hike to Chehni Kothi, an ancient Himalayan tower above traditional villages. Later, you may choose optional nature walks near the Great Himalayan National Park, known for its rich flora and birdlife. The rest of the day is free for leisure, fishing, or simply relaxing by the river. Overnight stay in Tirthan.
Drive from Tirthan to Sonaugi (130 km | 5–6 hrs), climbing into quieter mountain country near Manali. Arrive in Sonaugi at approximately 6,200 ft (1,890 m) and check in. Spend the evening on village walks, among apple orchards, and with uninterrupted mountain views all around. Dinner and overnight stay in Sonaugi.
Discover the trails around Sonaugi with a hike to Jana Waterfall followed by a hike to Nashala Temple, both offering sweeping views and a glimpse into village life. A day visit to Manali is also possible for café time or shopping, with a return to Sonaugi for a quieter evening. This flexible day blends gentle activity with leisure. Overnight stay in Sonaugi.
