A rare chance for dancers and movement practitioners to approach technique differently: not as competition or hierarchy, but as a shared container for resilience, embodiment, and growth.
WILD is a 20-day late summer intensive dance training and co-living program held at Paleohori eco-art space in Lefkada. It offers experienced dancers and movement practitioners a space to reconsider technique as more than a measure of ability, instead understanding it as a vessel for resilience, connection, and development.
The program reflects on the ways dance training can reinforce productivity, comparison, and self-optimization. In response, WILD opens a living, active environment where technique becomes a language of care, a process of unlearning, and a collective practice of embodiment.
Throughout the program, participants will explore questions such as:
Penelope Morout and Rafaela Sahyoun will share tools, practices, and their personal approaches to self-mastery, drawing from their own distinct experience.
Rafaela presents her methodological frame, The Body The Player The Journey, with a focus this time on two aspects of her work: Sensorial shape-shift and The pulsing anatomy. Through improvisation, play-based scores, and experiential anatomy, participants are invited to explore movement as a sensorial, relational, and shape-shifting field rooted in perception, attunement, and agency. The practice supports a physically sustainable and collective process, encouraging co-regulation, neural connectivity, and authorial choice within an ever-evolving relational field.
Penelope brings Sculpting Body-Images, an intensely physical movement practice that treats the body as a dynamic instrument for poetic expression and dance as an intelligent practice. Using task-based improvisation, playful sculptural processes, and tools drawn from architecture and cinema, participants are invited to work with adaptability, stamina, and continuity while transforming habitual movement patterns. The practice supports self-mastery as a reflective, embodied process, cultivating presence, personal methodology, and storytelling through movement in relation to space and time.
The program keeps participants and facilitators in ongoing dialogue through a co-living setup, six hours of daily training, and circles for emotional co-regulation and critical discussion.
WILD is designed for both experienced and less experienced dancers who regularly nurture their movement practice.
