Step into a 10-week certification designed for those who feel called to guide breathwork with confidence, clarity, and integrity. This training is for anyone who wants to hold space not just as a technique, but as a meaningful responsibility.
Created to support you in becoming a capable and grounded facilitator, the program combines research, lived experience, and practical application. You’ll learn how to guide sessions safely and effectively, while developing the presence needed to read the room, stay embodied, and offer support in an ethical and responsive way.
Both pathways lead to the same certification and core curriculum. The difference lies in how you choose to experience the process.
Select the format that best suits your lifestyle, learning preferences, and level of immersion.
A fully supported 10-week online pathway that includes:
This option is ideal if you want flexibility while remaining closely connected to the learning and the group.
Online Training + In-Person Mountain Immersion
This pathway includes everything offered in the Online Training Track, along with a four-day in-person immersion in the Snowy Mountains.
It is designed for those who want to embody the work more fully, practise facilitation face-to-face, and receive direct, grounded feedback in a contained setting.
This is where the training deepens.
Held in the Snowy Mountains at The Shed at Lake Crackenback Resort, with accommodation at Pender Lea Chalets, this four-day experience gives you the space to slow down and step into the role of facilitator.
You’ll practise guiding breathwork sessions, experience the work from both sides, and receive feedback that helps refine your presence and confidence. The environment is intentionally supportive, allowing you to integrate what you learn without distraction.
This is not about performance. It is about embodiment, awareness, and learning to trust yourself in the role.
Your training begins as soon as you enrol.
Inside the Academy, you’ll move through a structured curriculum covering breathwork techniques, nervous system regulation, facilitation skills, ethics, and practical application. The live calls bring theory into experience, giving you space to practise, ask questions, and reflect with your cohort.
This is an experiential training. You won’t simply study breathwork — you’ll work with it, be guided through it, and gradually grow into leading it.
Certification is not the finish line.
Graduates remain connected to the Breathless ecosystem, with ongoing access to learning materials and invitations to future trainings and refreshers. Many facilitators begin offering sessions soon after completing the program, while continuing to deepen their skills through ongoing practice and community.
The intention is simple: you are supported beyond the training, not sent on your way alone.
This work is independently researched.
In collaboration with Macquarie University, Breathless participated in a study with 505 participants that found significant improvements in mood, substantial reductions in anxiety, and measurable growth in interoceptive awareness, with results sustained one week later.
Johannes is also a co-author of peer-reviewed breathwork research published in Brain Sciences (Banushi et al., 2023, MDPI), an internationally recognised scientific journal.
When you train with Breathless, you are learning from practice that has been measured, studied, and published.
Johannes has spent more than a decade in the field as a freediving instructor, Wim Hof Method Instructor, Oxygen Advantage Instructor, HeartMath Trainer, and certified yoga teacher. He has facilitated breathwork for thousands of people and co-authored peer-reviewed research published in international scientific journals.
What many graduates remember most, however, is how it felt to be in the room with him.
The Breathless team brings the same presence and care to every part of the in-person experience, from arrival to farewell.

Published researcher, author, keynote speaker, athlete, and breathwork instructor, Johannes Egberts brings a deeply informed and practical perspective to the art and science of breathing. For the past six years, he has devoted his work to researching, teaching, and studying breathwork and its role in healing and human performance.
