




We are pleased to announce the first Dharma retreat of the year at Mahamudra, taking place from 18th–20th October, with teachings generously offered by Geshe Thupten Wangchen from Dorje Chang Institute in Auckland.
To mark this special weekend, the retreat is being offered at a remarkable price.
The weekend begins on Friday evening with a light supper, followed by Guru Puja in our beautiful Gompa. On Saturday, Geshe-la will present teachings and lead discussions on Lama Tsongkhapa’s The Foundation of All Good Qualities.
We will close the weekend on Sunday with a Yamantaka Fire Puja.
Geshe Thupten Wangchen received full ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1988. After 23 years of devoted study, he was awarded the Lharampa degree in 1998. He then taught Tibetan and Western students at Kopan Monastery in Nepal and served as a tenured lecturer in Buddhist philosophy at Varanasi University in India. At the request of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Geshe Wangchen kindly accepted the role of Resident Teacher at Dorje Chang Institute. He arrived in New Zealand in June 2003, and over the past 21 years has shared teachings with many people across all aspects of Buddhist philosophy and psychology.
