This immersive experience is created for travelers who want to connect with authentic Andean culture and ancestral traditions. It includes three ceremonies led by Q'ero Nation shamans, each specializing in a different area of healing: a Flower Cleansing Ceremony, a Coca Leaf Reading Ceremony, and an Offering to Pachamama, the Earth Mother. These traditional shamanic practices date back to well before the Inca Empire and remain an important part of Quechua heritage. Taking part in them with an authentic Andean shaman offers a fresh perspective on life and supports both physical and spiritual growth.
The total duration may vary depending on the pick-up distance, road traffic, and the conversations that naturally arise during the ceremonies. The experience lasts 2 hours and may extend up to a maximum of 4 hours.
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to a beautiful location on the outskirts of Cusco. The ceremonies are performed by Q'ero shamans from a small mountain village reached after several days of walking. Each shaman is specially selected by a shamanic family to continue this sacred path. The Q'eros are considered the closest living descendants of the Incas and continue to preserve many ancient traditions.
The experience begins with the Coca Leaf Reading Ceremony. The shaman asks about your home life, health, family, friends, and work. He then lifts his satchel of coca leaves toward the mountains in prayer before laying them on a flat surface and gently opening the cloth. The arrangement of the leaves reveals insight into your past, present, and future. This deeply rooted Andean practice is truly one of a kind.
Next comes the Flower Cleansing Ceremony, performed with sage and yellow flowers. In the Andes, sage is commonly placed near homes and businesses, often by the front door, to help keep away negative spirits. During the ceremony, it is used to clear negative energies from the body. The shaman covers you with sage while offering prayers in Quechua, then surrounds your body with yellow flowers for protection. Many people report feeling the powerful energy that follows, making it a deeply moving experience.
The final and most important ceremony is the Offering to Pachamama. Pachamama is the Andean name for Mother Earth, and this ritual expresses gratitude for crops and everything we receive by returning intentions to the earth. Guided by the shaman’s prayer and a pouch of sacred Andean offerings, each symbolic item is explained with the help of a translator. These offerings represent themes such as travel protection, relationship harmony, occupational success, and more before being prepared for the bonfire. After all three ceremonies are complete, it is time to celebrate.
