Your home for the week is Vista Celestial, a boutique eco-hotel tucked into the rainforest above the Pacific Ocean. Each morning begins with a centering, one-hour yoga class suitable for all levels, followed by a gourmet breakfast with ocean views and the sounds of the surrounding jungle.
After breakfast, the property’s trails lead into the rainforest for guided mindfulness experiences such as YOGAhikes, ZENwalks, or nature mandala creation. A swim in the infinity pool offers a refreshing pause after the morning’s adventure. Though the property feels secluded, it is only minutes from beaches and activities such as surfing, zip-lining, horseback riding, and snorkeling. Vista Celestial serves locally sourced, organic gourmet meals prepared with care. Guests typically choose from three main course options, including vegan and vegetarian dishes. Located at 2,000 feet above sea level, the days are warm and the evenings slightly cooler. January is the dry season, so rain is unlikely. Because this retreat is rooted in nature connection, expect tropical birds, howler monkeys, geckos, lizards, and jungle bugs. Jungle paths include inclines and exposed roots, so stable footwear such as sneakers or strapped sandals is recommended.
Dagmar Bohlmann is a Kripalu-certified Mindful Outdoor Guide and an experienced, registered yoga and meditation teacher (ERYT500). She has written about the impact of nature immersion on the human soul and is devoted to helping guests return to their true nature. Dagmar has led domestic and international retreats and has visited Costa Rica many times.

From every room, you can take in ocean views of the iconic Whale’s Tail in Uvita, Costa Rica. Each villa accommodates up to four guests and can be arranged with one or two beds to suit your needs.
Thoughtful amenities include a private hot or cold infinity pool, oversized soaking tub, king bed, private dining area, and an expansive deck.
