Beach Retreat Playa Negra Costa Rica

Hali Love and Sarah Ham, two devoted moms of teenagers and lifelong yoga lovers, have designed this special experience as a meaningful pause from the beauty and busyness of everyday life. Set in stunning Costa Rica, this gathering invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world through nourishing movement, heartfelt connection, and the simple joy of being present.

This retreat is ideal for anyone longing for a true reset. If you’re ready to relax, move through daily yoga, enjoy a luxurious 5-star spa day, and take part in uplifting group experiences, you’ll feel completely at home. Arrive as you are and leave feeling rested, renewed, and deeply cared for.

Daily Structure

Mornings begin gently, with time to enjoy breakfast on Café Playa Negra’s rooftop terrace or coffee by the pool, without any rush. Daily yoga sessions are offered at 8:30am, noon, and 4:00pm, along with calming evening wind-down classes at 6:30pm. Every class is optional, allowing you to shape the experience around what you need most.

Retreat Features

Along with up to 3 daily yoga classes, your retreat includes your choice of accommodation at the newly renovated Café Playa Negra, just a 7-minute walk from the beach. You’ll also enjoy a beautiful welcome dinner, plus a beachside happy hour with appetizers. Yoga teachers may request a certificate of completion that can be registered with the International Yoga Alliance for Continuing Education Credits.

Luxury Spa Day & Optional Add Ons

Your retreat includes a luxurious spa day with transportation to the renowned Los Altos de Eros. There, you’ll enjoy three blissful spa treatments, followed by a nourishing lunch high above the coast, where mountain views, jungle scenery, and the ocean stretch out below. You may also choose one additional experience: a massage at Playa Negra Studio, a SUP tour through the mangroves, or a surf lesson with a local surf instructor.

Practices will take place in three of our favorite Playa Negra settings: on the beach, beachfront, and at our cozy town studio with air conditioning.

Travel

Flights and ground transportation are not included. Once your itinerary is received, airport shuttles will be arranged and guests with similar arrival and departure times will be grouped together to help reduce travel costs and create a smooth, stress-free arrival and departure. One-way transfer is $120, split among all guests. Please book flights to and from Liberia International Airport (LIR). The resort is about 1.5 hours from the airport. For customs, use: Café Playa Negra, Main Street Los Pargos, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
