Description

Ayurveda courses in Rishikesh, India, are created by Real Happiness Vedic School for those who want to develop a deep understanding of ancient Ayurvedic medicine, herbs, and spices. This training is especially suitable for beginners with no background in Ayurvedic study, as well as intermediate-level students. Throughout the course, participants explore Ayurveda through theory, research, observation, and hands-on practice.

The program offers a clear introduction to core Ayurvedic principles, including cleanliness and positive wellbeing. Students receive personal guidance and support from a team of professional experts who are available throughout the training. The learning environment is fully prepared to share knowledge about Ayurveda treatments and medicines, while also helping students understand their own constitution and how to adapt diet and lifestyle accordingly. This wisdom can support personal wellbeing and can also be shared with family, friends, and students.

Readings include important Indian philosophy texts, anatomy, the concept of Tridosha, Prakriti/constitution, Ojas, digestion and metabolism, and Ayurvedic herbology. The school also offers active Ayurvedic body treatment programs, including panchakarma. These private, comprehensive programs were developed according to Western standards, and from the moment students leave the airport, all needs for an Ayurvedic lifestyle are taken care of. Upon completion, students receive a certificate in recognition of their effort.

Studying Ayurveda brings benefits on personal, family, shared, and professional levels. The journey begins with healing oneself. Self-healing, known as swasthavritta, is considered the first step toward helping others. With time and self-study, students may notice meaningful and transformative changes in their nature. Panchakarma, the best-known detox process in Ayurveda, uses medicated oils, massage, and herbal remedies to restore youth and support deep cleansing. This treatment has been described in ancient Vedic scriptures and has been practiced in Kerala for centuries.

Ayurveda is a traditional Indian system of medicine focused on maintaining health and wellbeing by balancing the mind, body, and soul, while preventing disease rather than only treating it. Its holistic approach includes dietary, exercise, and lifestyle adjustments, along with Ayurvedic herbs and spices that are believed to support digestion and mental wellbeing. Rasayana, another restorative Ayurvedic treatment, nourishes the body at every level, supports Ojas and the immune system, helps prevent illness, slows the effects of aging, improves mental capacity, and supports longevity.

Vata

Vata is the force behind movement in the body and plays a vital role in health. It is most dominant in autumn and during seasonal transitions, making these periods especially important for careful attention to diet and lifestyle. Routine helps stabilize this moving energy and supports grounding for those with a strong Vata nature.

Pitta

Pitta dosha governs digestion, metabolism, and certain appetite-related hormones. It can be disturbed by spicy or hot foods and too much time in the sun. When Pitta is the primary life force, a person may be more prone to issues such as Crohn's disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, and infections. Signs may include bad breath, body odor, anger, and irritability.

Kapha

Kapha is made up of earth and water elements. It is heavy, slow, cool, smooth, soft, dense, stable, gross, and cloudy. Kapha gives structure and strength, providing the cohesion needed to maintain form. It also hydrates cells and systems, lubricates the joints, moisturizes the skin, supports immunity, and protects the tissues. Kapha is often linked with water energy, love, and compassion.
