Reconnect over 21st - 23rd August.
“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life.” — Eckhart Tolle
If recent months have left you feeling the effects of Zoom fatigue, lockdown stress, or cabin fever, you are not alone. For many, the usual outlets for release and restoration have been out of reach, and the impact on overall wellbeing has been real.
Technology helped keep us connected, but after countless online classes and virtual gatherings, many of us have felt the absence of something more elemental: the energy of sharing space with others in person.
This three-day immersive retreat offers a chance to step away from screens and return to what matters most. Surrounded by the untouched beauty of St Mullins and the Barrow River valley, you will reconnect through yoga, nature, and self-care, all in the spirit of high summer with an open heart and mind.
Nature will guide the pace of the weekend as you explore practices designed to help you slow down and become more present. Experiences include the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, along with a variety of yoga styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, and Yin yoga. Meditation is also central to the retreat, with several different approaches to experience. An optional talk on nutrition and health will be followed by a cookery demonstration.
Hosts Tim and Linda at Mulvarra look forward to welcoming you. Tim will lead dynamic morning and afternoon yoga sessions, as well as calming evening yin and yoga nidra/meditation sessions.
This spacious, light-filled studio overlooks the Barrow River, the surrounding forests, and the 7th century monastic settlement of St Mullins. Purpose-built as a yoga studio and meditation space, it also adapts easily to different uses. The studio includes a special infra red heating system and a full set of yoga equipment.
Tim is a qualified 200-hour yoga teacher. He spent extended periods studying and practising yoga in India, where he completed his teaching qualification in 2012.
Linda is a passionate food lover who prepares all of Mulvarra’s meals from scratch. After many hours in the kitchen refining recipes and testing dishes, she is ready to share her experience with you.
Food is an important part of the Mulvarra experience, from where it comes from to how it is grown, prepared, and shared. While Mulvarra and the Breathing Space are still developing, fresh ingredients and organic produce are used wherever possible, with plans to grow food on site in the future. The kitchen is generally vegetarian, though a range of dietary restrictions can also be accommodated. Vegetarian cooking is wonderfully versatile, and when meat is served very occasionally, it is organically sourced.
Discover the charm of St Mullins, known as the jewel of the Barrow, and enjoy a setting rich in history and natural beauty.
