




This 8-day, 7-night journey from Tangier to Marrakech offers an unforgettable route through northern Morocco, the imperial cities, and the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you will discover Chefchaouen, explore historic medinas, and enjoy camel trekking across the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier
On arrival at Tangier airport or port, you will be welcomed and begin your journey with visits to the legendary Hercules Cave, the scenic Achakar beach, and Cap Spartel, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet. You will also explore the old town and its maze of atmospheric alleys.
Day 2: Tangier – Chefchaouen
Travel from Tangier toward Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains and the city of Tetouan. Enjoy the changing landscapes of northern Morocco before arriving in Chefchaouen, a beautiful village at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Its blue-painted medina is among the most iconic in Morocco, with artisan shops, rooftop cafés, and relaxed restaurants. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Depart for Volubilis to explore the ruins of this ancient Roman city. Continue to Meknes, where you will visit the medina, Sahrij Souani, Lehdim Square, and Bab al Mansour Gate. There will also be time to wander the souks before continuing to Fes. Accommodation in a traditional riad.
Day 4: Full day in Fes with a local guide
Today is dedicated to discovering Fes, Morocco’s historic imperial city. The visit begins at the Royal Palace gate and continues through the Jewish Quarter, a ceramics cooperative, and the narrow streets of the medina. You will also see the tanneries and other sites of cultural and historical importance, including the famous Al Karaouine University. Overnight in Fes.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, drive toward the Sahara Desert, passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests, home to wild monkeys. This is a wonderful opportunity to capture Morocco’s natural scenery. Lunch will be in a small Berber village. The route continues through the Atlas Mountains and the landscapes of Midelt, then Erfoud, where the desert oasis of Tafilalet begins. After a short rest, ride camels to your desert camp for the night.
Day 6: Merzouga – Khamlia – Merzouga – Sahara Desert
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the desert, then ride camels back to meet your driver. Spend the day exploring the desert area, visiting nomad families and the Gnaoua village of Khamlia, where you will enjoy authentic music and instruments. Afterward, savor a traditional Berber pizza before returning to your hotel or riad for the night.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
This morning, depart for Rissani, the gateway to Erg Chebbi, known for its lively souk and donkey market. Continue to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, drive through the Dades Valley and admire its dramatic rock formations and monkey toes. Overnight in Dades Valley.
Day 8: Dades Valley – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, head to Marrakech via Ouarzazate, with a panoramic stop to view Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios. You will also visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, which has served as a backdrop for many films since the 1960s. Enjoy lunch in a local village restaurant, then continue across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’tichka Pass at 2,260 meters before arriving in Marrakech. End of the tour.
