




Discover an unforgettable 8-day journey from Agadir into the heart of southern Morocco, where desert landscapes, mountain passes, historic kasbahs, and coastal scenery come together in one rich experience. Over 8 Days / 7 Nights, this route takes you through the Sahara Desert, includes a camel trek and a night in a Berber camp, and features visits to iconic places such as the Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, Marrakech, and Essaouira.
1 Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
Depart Agadir and travel south through small Berber villages, passing Taznakht, known as Morocco’s carpet capital, and Taliouine, the saffron center. Continue to the remarkable Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986 and a famous filming location for movies such as Alexander, Gladiator, and Babel. The day ends in Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you will stay overnight.
2 Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Alnif – Rissani – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, follow the Draa Valley and stop at the Kasbah of Tamnougalt, set among palm groves. Travel on through Nkob, Tazarine, and Alnif for lunch, then continue to Rissani, known for its traditional souk and donkey park. Arrive at the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, where a camel ride takes you to the desert bivouac for dinner and a night under the stars.
3 Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Begin with a visit to Erfoud’s fossil workshops before heading to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, Morocco’s highest and narrowest gorges. After lunch, drive through the scenic Dades Valley, taking in striking rock formations and the famous “monkey toes.” Overnight in Dades Valley.
4 Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, travel to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. Stop for panoramic views of Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios, then visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou once more before lunch in a local restaurant. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2260 m and arrive in Marrakech for drop-off.
5 Day 5: Full Day Marrakech Tour
An optional private guided tour introduces you to Marrakech’s highlights, including Koutoubia Mosque, the Medina and souks, Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Majorelle Gardens. Overnight in a Riad in the Medina.
6 Day 6: Marrakech – Essaouira
Drive for around 3 hours to Essaouira, with an optional stop at an Argan oil cooperative. Explore the historic port, 18th-century ramparts, Dutch cannons, and lively local markets. After lunch and hotel check-in, enjoy free time in the afternoon.
7 Day 7: Essaouira – Sidi Kaouki – Imsouane – Taghazout – Agadir
Continue along the coast back to Agadir, passing Sidi Kaouki, Imsouane, and Taghazout, one of Morocco’s top surfing destinations. Along the way, see goats climbing Argan trees, visit Paradise Valley, and enjoy views of Agadir and the coastline. Overnight in a hotel.
8 Day 8: Full Day in Agadir
Spend the final day exploring Agadir’s main attractions, including the Valley of the Birds, a green park area with a zoo, waterfall, and playground, before ending with a relaxing walk along the beach. Overnight. End of the 8-day tour from Agadir to the Sahara Desert and Marrakech.
