The journey begins on the sacred Inca Trail, one of the world's most iconic spiritual pilgrimages, culminating at Machu Picchu. Although this is the short version of the trail, it still requires very good physical condition, steady endurance, and mental focus due to altitude, stone steps, uneven terrain, and long walking hours. No technical hiking experience is required.
As part of a ceremonial retreat, the hike becomes more than a physical journey. Each step invites presence, discipline, and surrender, mirroring the inner work that later unfolds with Ayahuasca and preparing the mind and heart for deep healing. Focuses the mind, opens the heart, and supports spiritual growth at every level.
The Short Inca Trail portion of this journey is operated by a highly reputable local trekking agency specialized in high-altitude Andean hikes and the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. This team holds all official permits and provides certified professional guides, ethical porter support, and full logistics throughout the trek. ONAYA has carefully selected this partner to ensure that this physically demanding part of the journey is carried out with the highest standards of safety, responsibility, and care.
At ONAYA, we believe each phase of a transformational journey should be guided by those deeply devoted to their craft. For this reason, we collaborate with this trusted specialist for the mountain journey.
